Day 1. Antananarivo - Antananarivo. Arrival at Ivato Airport: meet-and-greet, transfer, and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2. Antananarivo Antsirabe: After the briefing, drive toward the “City of Water” via Ambatolampy, the town of artisanal foundries: visit a small aluminum pot factory. Arrival in Antsirabe in the late afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3. Antsirabe – Miandrivazo: In the morning, tour of the lively and vibrant spa town and its artisans: confectioners, miniature craftsmen, embroiderers, and zebu horn carvers… Then, drive to Miandrivazo, the starting point for the descent down the Tsiribihina River. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4. Miandrivazo – Tsiribihina River Descent: Transfer to the dock. Meet the team and begin the canoe trip down the river. A three-day journey through completely untouched wilderness to discover various species of birds, bats, and occasionally groups of lemurs. Dinner and overnight stay in tents on white sandbanks (camping).
Day 5. Tsiribihina River Rafting: The rafting trip continues, featuring crocodile and bird watching, as well as visits to local villages. Stop at a massive waterfall and a natural pool for a swim. Lunch, dinner, and overnight stay in tents on the white sandbanks (camping).
Day 6. End of the descent – Antsiraraka – Belo/Tsiribihina: End of the descent. After lunch, we take a 4×4 to reach the town of Belo/Tsiribihina. Overnight at a hotel.
Day 7. Belo/Tsiribihina – Bekopaka: A 4- to 5-hour drive on dirt roads to reach the village of Bekopaka, the starting point for excursions to the Tsingy de Bemaraha. Check-in at the hotel. After lunch, visit the Small Tsingy. 2 nights at the hotel.
Day 8. Tsingy of Bemaraha: Visit to the Grand Tsingy: it takes 1 hour by 4×4 to reach the starting point. The excursion lasts 4 hours, featuring a hike through the famous spiky rock formations—unique in the world—and spectacular panoramic views. Return to the hotel.
Day 9. Bekopaka – Morondava: A long day on the dirt road, crossing two ferries. Drive to Morondava, lunch in Belo/Tsiribihina. After the second ferry, a sandy dirt road leads you to the Avenue of the Baobabs to watch the sunset. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10. Morondava – Manja: Set off on an adventure southward to Manja: a magnificent 4×4 ride with a few river crossings… Arrival in the middle of the afternoon in Manja, a small farming village. Short tour of the village. Overnight at a small bush hotel.
Day 11. Manja – Andavadoaka: We continue along a beautiful paved road until we take the ferry across the Mangoky River at Bevoay. Then, we continue on the dirt road to Andavadoaka, where we’ll visit an incredible baobab forest. Arrival in the late afternoon in Andavadoaka, a fishing village. Check-in for 2 nights at the hotel.
Day 12: Andavadoaka: Free time: opportunities for diving, snorkeling, canoe trips, and more…
Day 13. Andavadoaka – Ifaty: The adventure continues on to Ifaty. We recommend having lunch in Salary, a hidden paradise. After lunch, we’ll continue along the dirt road, following the coastline and the vast turquoise-blue lagoon, all the way to Ifaty. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 14. Ifaty – Ranohira: Drive toward Tulear: a short city tour. Then, we continue on our way to Ranohira.
As we approach Ranohira, the starting point for excursions into the Isalo Massif, the landscape changes, giving way to jagged canyons… Check-in for 2 nights at the hotel.
Day 15. Isalo Massif: Hike in the Isalo Massif: Makis Canyons, Nymphs’ Waterfall, Natural Pool. Itinerary tailored to fitness level. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16: Ranohira – Fianarantsoa. Drive north on National Highway 7, crossing the Horombe Plateau. Lunch in Ambalavao, where we’ll visit the Antemoro Paper Mill, see silk weaving, and perhaps even stop by the wine cellar… Then, we’ll continue on to Fianarantsoa, the capital of the Betsileo ethnic group. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 17. Fianarantsoa – Manakara: Very early breakfast. Then, a long day of travel by train, departing at 6:45 a.m. The train passes through the Tanàla region, where it is the only means of transportation. Arrival in Manakara in the early evening. Check-in at the hotel for 2 nights.
Day 18. Pangalanes Canal: Pirogue ride on the Pangalanes Canal with picnics organized near a fishing village. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 19. Manakara – Ranomafana: Drive to Ranomafana. Travel through magnificent landscapes to enter the tropical rainforest that borders a large part of the country’s eastern coastline. Free afternoon: opportunity to enjoy the spa… Overnight at the hotel.
Day 20. Ranomafana – Ambositra: In the morning, guided tour of Ranomafana National Park. Then, continue on to Ambositra, the woodworking capital known for its marquetry and carvings. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 21. Ambositra – Antananarivo: Tour of the city and its craft shops. Then, travel back to Antananarivo, the capital. Overnight at the hotel. End of services.
